Traditionally, it was believed that if one folded 1000 origami cranes, ones wish would come true. It has also become a symbol of hope and healing during challenging times. As a result, it has become popular to fold 1000 cranes (in Japanese, called “senbazuru”). A thousand paper cranes are traditionally given as a wedding gift by the father, who is wishing a thousand years of happiness and prosperity upon the couple. They can also be given to a new baby for long life and good luck. Hanging them in ones home is thought to be a powerfully lucky and benevolent charm.

National Volunteer Week, also known as Volunteer Appreciation Week, is April 23-29. Of course, our love for volunteers isn’t limited to one week. We feel it should be volunteer appreciation day 365 days a year.
Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
Your Mother is always with you.
She’s the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street, she’s the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick, the fragrance of life itself, she’s the cool hand on your brow when you’re not feeling well, she’s your breath in the air on a cold winter’s day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the colors of a rainbow, she is Christmas morning.
Your Mother lives inside your laughter. And she’s crystallized in every tear drop. She’s the place you came from, your first home, and she’s the map you follow with every step you take. She’s your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you. Not time, not space . . . . . . . . . not even death!
While money and funding are important to many organizations that help animals, there are some other ways to help that don’t involve spending money.
I Love My Dog Jewelry. Jewelry For A Good Cause. Feel great about what you are wearing while sending some good karma out into the world. My jewelry has a purpose beyond the creation of beautiful adornments. I believe in the power of gratitude and giving and I love creating for the benefit of animals. I am a volunteer rescue worker. I work with some very wonderful groups that drive rescue pets to their new homes. My jewelry sales improve the lives of homeless and abused animals through sheltering, adoption, education and advocacy, as well as the prevention of animal cruelty. Always remember when you are wearing my beautiful jewelry you are helping a beautiful creature. You can feel good knowing that someone besides you benefits from your purchase… Look great and make a difference.
